FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHAT IS PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSESSMENT?
"A psychological assessment can include numerous components such as norm-referenced psychological tests, informal tests and surveys, interview information, school or medical records, medical evaluation and observational data. A psychologist determines what information to use based on the specific questions being asked. For example, assessments can be used to determine if a person has a learning disorder, is competent to stand trial or has a traumatic brain injury."
WHAT ARE YOUR RATES?
Therapy sessions are priced at $120/therapy hour.
Assessment services are provided at $125/hour. The entire evaluation process generally takes 8-10 hours, which includes a clinical interview, testing, scoring, reporting writing, and a feedback session to go over the results of the evaluation.
WHAT KIND OF ASSESSMENTS DO YOU DO?
At this present time, I only do assessments for children aged 6-17.
Common reasons for referral include seeking diagnostic clarity, recommendations for treatment and other accommodations, and to help one understand how one relates to others and the world.
DO YOU TAKE INSURANCE?
I accept the following insurance providers: Anthem BCBS, United Healthcare, Cigna, HomeState Health (Medicaid), and MissouriCare (Medicaid).
Please note that insurances will not cover educational evaluations (e.g., to answer the question, "does my child have a learning disability?"). There may also be other occasions where you may be responsible for payment.
If you have any questions about your insurance coverage, please contact your insurance provider or the office.
